Short Bio:
Nupur Thakker is a Ph.D. student at the Computer Science Department of the University of Rome "La Sapienza". She received her Master's degree in RF and Microwave Engineering in 2013 from Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT, Roorkee, India) and her Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from BIT, Mesra (India) in 2011. She worked in a Marine Instrumentation Lab, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO ,Goa) for a brief time. Her broad research interests lie in the design, implementation and performance evaluation through simulation and testbed deployments of the terrestrial wireless sensor networks (WSN) for various applications. She is currently exploring visible light communication (VLC) as an alternative to the radio frequency (RF) technology and is involved in the design and implementation of prototypes and protocols for VLC.
