Short Bio:

Roberto Petroccia is a Postdoc researcher at the Computer Science Department of the Rome University "La Sapienza," Italy. He is currently coordinating the UWSN Group experimental activities of the University of Rome team within the CLAM project. He received the Laurea Degree in Computer Science with the highest honors (2006) and the Ph.D. (2010) from Rome University "La Sapienza," Italy. His research interests include sensor networks protocols, underwater communications and networks. He has worked extensively on the design of protocols and communication schemes for underwater networks and on the test at sea of the proposed solutions. His current research interests include the design of new protocol solutions for underwater networks: cross-layering communication (MAC/routing/PHY), ambient monitoring, mobile vehicle control and cooperation. He is the author of the SUNSET framework and has participated in several EC projects including E-SENSE, SENSEI and CLAM. Roberto Petroccia is also a senior research scientist within the WSENSE spinoff with the responsibility to coordinate the team developing the UWSN products.
